Body, Mind and Spirit Workshop / 14:00-17:00

It will be about one hour of lecture and two hours of and techniques how to practice in a meditative way.

During the practice ofAshtanga Yoga, we attempt to reach the sattvic (pure, peaceful) state of mind.Ashtanga Yogais not only physical exercise, but also a practice of deep concentration, body and mind observation andmeditation. This yogicstate is not something which is possible only for more advanced students of Yoga. It can be the state of mind from the beginning, from the very first Yoga class. Feeling comfortable and meditative during the practice will influence the level of calmness and health for life outside the practice and keep the Yoga in your life all the way to the end of days.

PETRI RAISANEN
Petri started practicingAshtanga Yogain 1988 and teaching in 1990. He is a devoted student of his Guru, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and was authorized to teach Ashtanga Yoga in 2001 by Guruji. Petri is careful to pass on his Guru's exact teachings.

Petri is co-owner and director ofAshtanga YogaHelsinki, one of the world's largestAshtanga Yoga Shalasand author of twoAshtanga yogabooks.

In hisyogicpath Petri has studied with many respectedAshtanga Yogateachers such as Derek Ireland (his first certified teacher), Radha Warrel, Gwendoline Hunt, Lino Miele and Eddie Stern, in addition to R. Sharath Jois and Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.

Petri focuses on integrating healing and therapy withyoga, meeting student's individual needs and guiding their progress. Petri's yoga pose adjustments are gentle, effective, therapeutic and, according to some, almost magical, and originate (besides his own practice and teaching) from his past work as a traditional Finnish folk healer and naturopath.
